Remember the movie "An Inconvenient Truth" we told you about weeks ago? Well, through some volunteer work at the Nashville Peace and Justice Center and while getting ready for school (my non-teaching gig is to coordinate the Environmental Club at the school) I came across the site www.climatecrisis.net again. The site is encouraging people to pledge to see the movie and actually provides a link so that one can pledge on a friend's blog. And ...voila... we have "installed" one on this blog. Since the link counts how much of an impact a specific blog has had we insist you pledge (AND see the movie, obviously, because a promise is a promise, right!?) and not embarrass us here ;-) So, all of you who have a US zip code, please use the link on the right, pledge, and find a night & a theater to see the movie, resp. put it on your to-watch movie list!

There's really not too much else to report at this point. Patrick successfully changed advisors today, without tears or hurt feelings. He will now work with someone a bit more established and renowned in the field of 20th century American social history. The professor just changed to Vanderbilt this semester, which is a perfect time as Patrick is planing his comprehensive exams for January/ Feburary. As for me, school starts again tomorrow and with it a more structured and hectic life again, I am sure. Actual teaching doesn't start until Tuesday, but there are lots of parent nights, inservices, introductory sessions, etc. in the meantime. While I'm a little nervous about the amount of work waiting for me, I am also ready to go back in a way. This is what gave certain meaning to the summer, if you will, and what made the sweet times even sweeter, if you know what I mean? And we both have had a truly great summer filled with plenty of pleasant, exciting, new and valuable experiences that we will cherish throughout the year and thereafter. Sigh...

Well, time to try the "early to bed, early to rise..." thing again.

As always, we will keep you updated on what's happening in our little world.

Good night...
