An egg hunt at our "Fellini Kroger"

For four days now we've been trying to find eggs that don't either cost $4/dozen (though organic) or that cost $2/ dozen but where the styrofoam wrapper already leads us to assume enough about the company's environmental and food policies for us not to buy them. So we tried the co-op, but no luck for a low budget. After letting out a "we might miss our old Wild Oats" sigh, we wondered if we shouldn't call Kroger and ask if it might be possible to order free range eggs in a paper carton (like the ones we used to buy at the Green Hills Kroger in Nashville)... And just then Patrick finds this article on our new Kroger, which apparently is a known spectacle here in Knoxville. Not sure we'll ask about those "hippy" eggs, but we will try to be more welcoming of our new diverse, less...well...yuppified neighborhood without Wild Oats, Whole Foods and the like...
